Robbins Russell Wins Dismissal Of Securities-Fraud Claims Against International Accountancy Network
March 19, 2013
On March 18, 2013, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted Robbins Russell’s motion to dismiss a class-action securities-fraud complaint against Moore Stephens International Limited -- a global accountancy and advisory network with member-firms in 100 countries throughout the world. Robbins Russell attorneys Kathryn Zecca, Matthew Madden, and Joshua Mitchell briefed the dismissal motion, which asserted that the district court lacked personal jurisdiction over the London-based accountancy network, and that plaintiffs failed to state claims against the network. At a hearing, the court adopted both of Robbins Russell’s arguments, and dismissed plaintiffs’ claims against the network with prejudice.
